Matthew Askren

Matthew Askren has worked in leadership roles with some of the largest food manufacturers in the world. Matthew has led groups within the baking, candy, and meat categories and has a demonstrated history of streamlining processes and building the relationships that are required to establish sustainable progress. He holds multiple quality and food safety certifications through the American Institute of Baking, and SQF Certification through SQFI, and multiple Lean Six Sigma Certifications through ProSource. He has been published over 30 times on the topic of Leadership by Chicago Now, a network subsidiary of the Chicago Tribune.

Before his time in the private sector, Matthew spent 7 years in the United States Marine Corps including 2 tours in Afghanistan. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. Matthew also spent time as a Communications Instructor and Martial Arts Instructor before receiving his honorable discharge.

Matthew graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hampton University. His undergraduate degree was in Systems Organization and Management. Matthew also received his MBA from Jackson State University.
